Hey, Have You Heard About The Community Network Meme?

I came across this great article and though I would share it here with you all. It’s an excellent article that you need to check out. Here it is:

Community Networking Meme

Creating a post every day, every other day or even once a week can be a daunting task. We are being pulled in many directions by friends and family, work, stress, fatigue, school, children, writer’s block, fear and the list goes on. Everyone who blogs has their own network of people who have visited and sometimes commented. That is your network, your personal blogging community.

Most times a blogger’s personal community of visitors and commentary stick to their own network. That means they do not interact with the personal community of other bloggers. In other words the people who visit your blog will not visit my blog just because you do. People coming to your blog will not necessarily visit the sites on your blogroll. So, everyone has their separate little network.

I’m not trying to change that, it’s just a fact of life that there are cliques even in the blogging community. What I was thinking though, is a community blog post. Before you click out of this post thinking I’m crazy, here me out… I just learned that there is a name to what I am proposing. It’s called a meme, (pronounced ‘meem)’. A meme is contagious content that spreads quickly throughout the Internet and gets the attention of many web users especially on social networks like Facebook. As a matter of fact, a meme spread through Facebook last year. Females were posting the color of the bra and panties and none of us males had any idea what the colors meant. Some of us guys are still without an idea!

I want with your help, to create “meme-like” content passed on from one blogger to another blogger. The difference is I want this planned ahead of time so that as many bloggers who want to participate, can do so; all of us on the same day and time. The numbers could be in the thousands if everyone on your blogroll takes part, and everyone on their blogroll, and so on and so on.
Suppose I asked five bloggers to participate in a community post where we all came together to answer a questionnaire. You have ten bloggers that regularly visit your blog and you ask them to participate as well. They in turn ask their friends and visitors and so on and so on.

What we would need is a group of questions, a set day to post the comment and a cumulative list of all the blogs that are willing to participate. Everyone schedules the post for that day and time and there is a potential for hundreds if not thousands of new visitors for every blog on the list. New visitors, new readers and potentially new friends. I have chosen December 12th as the date because it is far enough away for all who want to participate, to do so and it gives you the ability to get your answers finished.

If you think this is worthwhile or just a fun idea, just repost this onto your blog as soon as possible in it’s entirety. Email everyone you know who has a blog and might also be interested in this. Ask each person who is a firm commitment to add their name and blog’s name to the master list. Everyone will need to include the list in it’s entirety to their post so everyone will have the same list on their site and everyone has an equal chance at exposure.
